*Because the cost varies greatly with the weight, size, and destination of an item, we can't provide a firm and fixed price quote for shipping in the shipping estimate calculator in this listing. Please provide us with your zip code and we will find a competitive shipping quote for your area. If you are happy with our estimate just let us know and we will add this cost to the listing for online checkout. Our shipping estimate will be for a door-to-door blanket wrap shipping service or white glove shipping services if requested. Delivery times vary depending on how fast we can find a shipper and how well-traveled certain areas are. We do not recommend Greyhound or a Freight service for transporting larger pieces but these are options for smaller pieces of furniture.
We can facilitate in-person purchase or pick-up during normal business hours, just let us know in advance so we can place the item on hold until you arrive. If you wish to purchase an item online first and pickup in person at a later date just let us know and we can remove the shipping costs in advance of your purchase.
Please note that the "21 business day" delivery timeline advised by Etsy on each listing may not be possible if larger furniture is being shipped across the country. Please ask us in advance of purchase for an estimated delivery time.
Here is a nicely restored modern walnut and polished chrome dining table by Warren Snodgrass for Thonet Industries. This table showcases some of Thonet's best works with tubular steel and wood. The tabletop is made from layers of pressed plywood with a thick veneer top accompanied by heavy solid wood edge banding. Pressed plywood was completed in Thonet's York, Pa factory on Princess St. this factory is also where their bentwood furniture was made until the factory burned down in the 90s. The combination of wood and metal on this piece makes it truly stand out. There are not many exact comps to be found matching this design but with the help of some other York, Pa furniture experts we were able to identify this piece. The tabletop has been restored in a lighter shade of walnut and our photos do not do it justice. Overall this piece is in very good restored condition.
The Designer - Warren Snodgrass
Born on March 19, 1937, in San Francisco, his education included the Town School, Cate School, University of San Francisco, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in industrial design from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena. While attending Art Center, he worked for the architectural firm of William Pereira and after graduating he worked for the firm of Charles Luckman and Associates, Los Angeles. He returned to the bay area as design director for the San Francisco office of Selje, Bond, and Stuart. In 1975, he founded the firm of Design Technology. His extensive background in architectural design and space planning led to many successful furniture designs for a variety of top furniture manufacturers such as Steelcase, Stow Davis, Thonet, Haworth, and Tropitone. Warren received industrial design awards from the American Institute of Architects, the Resources Council, the A.S.I.D., and the Institute of Business Designers. Among his award-winning designs is the Perception Chair, which received four major awards. In 1992 his signature Snodgrass Chair was added to the permanent design collection at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
